Writing this script was a true honor and labor of love. I always believed that Marilyn Monroe's death was an unfortunate tragedy, yet she did not commit suicide. In the past years I started researching the allegations known to the public, of her past suicide attempts finally ending in a death by suicide. In my heart I knew it was not true. There was doubt in the people that were close to her and a link to the Kennedy's that would not go away. One night I had a dream. In the dream I saw Marilyn Monroe running towards a podium in which Anna Strasberg (Lee's second wife) was speaking (they had never met in real life). She spoke about Marilyn's death holding up an old newspaper, claiming that in her death Marilyn had left the greatest contribution to the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. All of a sudden she enters the room and announced to everyone "IAM NOT DEAD! I AM ALIVE!" In that moment commotion broke loose and I woke up. As I sat in bed I wondered what this crazy dream meant? This was 1992 and she had been dead for 30 years. After this dream I had other similar dreams and in one of those saw a quck glimpse of Robert F. Kennedy talking to Marilyn in a room next to a chimney. The emotional level was very tense and she was very upset.A calm voice came to mind that said " it was him." In my research a few months later I saw a picture of Marilyn's living room at 5th Helena Drive and there it was the same chimney! I don't know why all this revealed itself, but writing this short film has freed me and helped me to embrace my love of writing and lifted a weight from my heart. All facts were collected from published reports and court documents. My intention is to bring light to the last hours of her life and in some way end the ignorance of her suffering. This film is about Marilyn the woman and not Marilyn the 'movie star persona " that she so brilliantly performed in all of her films.. CARLAORLANDI / BIOGRAPHY
At birth I was adopted by my loving parents from Puerto Rico. I'm very greatful to them for giving me a real home! As a young girl I loved to perform at an early age. I would put on plays and mystery dramas on my tape recorder. On Sundays I would tell jokes and have a variety show. I loved to watch movies and would pretend to be sick in order to watch movies all day long. My mother (Arleen V. Orlandi) encouraged me to pursue modeling because of my height and figure. I enjoyed modeling because it was another way of becoming different characters. At 14 I went to NY under contract with Wella. My first photo promotion in over 75 magazines read 'A Star Is Born".At the time I lived in Puerto Rico and the magazines seemed like an alluring invitation to explore more of the world.
Soon after I went to college. My dad (Carlos A. Mendoza Vidal) a lawyer wanted me to follow in his footsteps.
I went to Syracuse University, however, college life was not for me. I later
went to NYC and enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. Finally I felt
free. I was surrounded by other talented and expressive artists. I studied for
4 years on a daily basis.Then I moved to Los Angeles.In California I continued
my studies and found a wonderful teacher from the Actor's Studio. Hedy Sontag
nurtured my talent and encouraged me to go deeper within through the method.I was lucky to get cast in the lead role in a short film called "NO PUSSYFOOTING"directed
by Yael Russcol.I played "Harrison" a completely self centered power
hungry Hollywood producer. It was a challenge
My most recent accomplishment was writing , producing, directing and starring in COVER-UP '62.THE FINAL DAYS OF MARILYN MONROE. My production company GOLDEN GIRL PRODUCTIONS was in charge of hiring all of the crew and talent for this short film based on the last days and untimely death of screen legend Marilyn Monroe. My latest acting teacher Anita Jesse encouraged me to write and produce this story. So far this has been the most fulfilling adventure. The film will be shown at Film Festivals all around the world.Living in Los Angeles has been a transforming experience. My life has been transformed through the spiritual path of Siddha Yoga. There I met my husband David who is an actor and songwriter from NYC. We have been married since 1995. We have two great children. Jordan Matthew (born in 97)and Luke Aaron (born in 2001). Life has been a blessing to me. I owe my happiness to God , to my loving parents in Puerto Rico and to all the supportive and creative people that have nurtured me. I have come a long way!
